Just Eat Takeaway (JET) is a leading online food delivery platform operating in more than 20 countries. The platform connects millions of consumers with tens of thousands of local restaurants and delivery drivers across various countries. With a large international workforce spread across multiple continents, sharing knowledge, culture, and information at scale is a daily challenge for the People Communications team. <\/span><\/p>\n

The problem<\/b><\/h2>\n

Video was not new territory for JET. It was already being used for internal communication, training, and knowledge sharing. But the production process stood in the way of scaling up. <\/span><\/p>\n

Anyone who wanted to make a video had two options. The first: hire a professional crew. That ensured high quality, <\/span>but it was expensive, time-consuming, and not suitable for rapid or frequent production<\/strong>.<\/strong> The second: having colleagues film themselves. More accessible, but with mixed results. Sound, composition, preparation, and presentation skills varied greatly from person to person.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, video was used less than desired. Although there was definitely a need for it, the production process was too demanding: People had to memorize scripts, prepare setups, and the communications department was involved in virtually every production. <\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, video remained a project-based tool, rather than something teams could use independently and on a regular basis.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Approach<\/b><\/h2>\n

The solution wasn\u2019t better equipment or a bigger budget, but a more accessible process. With Vormats, teams at JET can easily launch their own video projects, guided by scripts, a teleprompter, and a convenient recording workflow. Colleagues no longer have to memorize text, which helps them feel more relaxed in front of the camera. <\/span><\/p>\n

The best part is: colleagues prefer to film together. With a colleague, manager, or project manager there, it feels less like \u201cbeing in front of the camera alone\u201d and more like a collaborative effort. This approach lowers the barrier to entry and makes creating the next video even easier. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Results<\/b><\/h2>\n

The change is measurable. More than 200 employees are now actively involved and regularly create videos.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

But the biggest shift is organizational. Video is no longer just the domain of the communications department. Teams such as Learning, Talent Acquisition, Legal, and Finance are taking on projects themselves. This was previously unthinkable because the production process was too complex and too dependent on others. <\/span><\/p>\n
